There is always that question, where to stay in London? Picking the best location can sometimes be a challenge, not to mention the endless choice of hotels sprawled around London. We usually plan strategically, combining the things we want to see and the area we will stay in. This way we save time and money, commuting.
On our recent trip to London to attend WTM (World Travel Market), we stayed in a few locations which also included stylish hotels. For one night in between our hotel stays we opted for an apartment rental in London.
City Relay London is a great solution which offers a wide selection of holiday rentals featuring many luxury apartments which are ideal for both leisure and business travellers.
The online reservation system is simple to use, by selecting the apartment, and area you would like to stay in, you can make your instant booking online. The check-in process is also pretty simple, you can opt for picking up the keys from the partner company City Relay offices or meet a representative at a scheduled time at the apartment.
The Kensington Mornington Mansion: holiday apartment in London
We selected the Kensington Mornington Mansion apartment which is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the West Kensington tube Station which is on the District Line. The District Line connects with all the major London attractions like the Big Ben, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey just to name a few.
The flat is located in a typical London building, on the second floor. There is no elevator so you have to use the stairs. You will get a 100% experience of living like a local Londoner.
We chose to meet a representative at the apartment and once we checked-in there were beautiful fresh flowers and a bottle of red wine waiting for us upon arrival. A five-star hotel service I would say.
This two bedroom flat is equipped with all the modern facilities, a separate sitting area with a widescreen TV and a comfy couch which can be turned into an extra sofa-bed that can sleep two people.
There is an open plan fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine, oven and microwave. It has everything you need from pots, to pans and utensils. Adjacent to the kitchen there is a table with four chairs which can be used as a dining table. The apartment is also ideal for longer stay time period. There was also coffee, tea and sugar provided in the apartment and two small bottles of water.
There is one bathroom with a shower cabin, stocked with towels and bathroom amenities. The floors are hardwood and covered with rugs.
The apartment is very warm, you can regulated the central heating system according to your preference. The apartment is bright, there are plenty of windows which can also be covered with roll-down shutters.
Both bedrooms had two double beds and plenty of storage space to make you feel comfortable and right at home. The decor is modern, clean-cut and had black and white photographs of Sean Connery from the James Bond movies.
Upon check-out we had the option of leaving the keys inside the apartment, all we had to do is snap and send a photo of where we left them to a WhatsApp number of our agent. Otherwise if you needed to store your luggage for a few extra hours you could do that in the City Relay offices.
The communication and service was seamless. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, all the bedlinen and towels were provide and the beds were made as they are in a hotel. The City Relay Properties London have many luxurious apartments of different sizes to choose from. The Wi-Fi was complimentary and worked very well. If you are planning for a longer stay and traveling with friends or family, then this is a great choice for a more affordable yet very comfortable stay.
